What is Rocket Yoga?
Rocket Yoga is a dynamic and uplifting style of yoga, created by Larry Schultz in the 1980s in San Francisco. It is a playful and creative interpretation of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, designed to build strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina while keeping the practice fun and accessible.
Like Ashtanga, Rocket Yoga takes you through sun salutations, standing postures, seated postures, and finishing sequences. What makes it unique is the freedom of choice: every transition and posture can be adapted – whether you need to modify for accessibility, take the traditional route, or explore creative variations that challenge your limits. Each class becomes a reminder that you are in charge of your own practice.
This sense of freedom and self-empowerment transforms Rocket Yoga into more than just a physical workout. With guidance and support, students often discover that progress in posture, flexibility, and stamina comes with joy rather than pressure. Weekly Rocket Yoga classes in Lagos, Portugal take place at InLight Yoga Studio and Algarve Alchemy Studio. Paulo is currently the only fully certified Rocket Yoga teacher in Lagos, bringing authentic experience and over a decade of worldwide teaching to every class.
